accessed Messier Object pages; counted are accesses to the main page for

each object.

Starting from June 1996, this Top 10 file is generated by a perl script,

and therefore has become a bit more acurate. However, as there are probably

some accesses missed or counted twice, so that I do not claim this is a

really acurate ranking.

From January 1997, the acuracy of the listings profits from SEDS’ success

in generating a longer-term logfile, so that generally a higher and more

consistent coverage of accesses is achieved.

In March 1998, the access rate reached a high of about and on some days

significantly over 40,000 daily accesses. Unfortunately, I lost again a

considerable number of days, more than a week, so that the logged access

numbers are quite low and not as representative as usual. The most accessed

object page was again that of M31 at 2302 counted accesses, 10-th rank

M8 counted 755 logged accesses, and the least accessed object page of

M68 still 139.
